Gelatin mask

 The fact is we all are different. I am meaning us=women. We have different types of skin, different bodies, etc. 



Some of us are luckier. The others are like me. I know I'm not ugly but also I know my + and -. 

Many of my friends in Russia have permanent eyebrows, always nails polished, hair highlighted etc. 

I also wouldn’t mind permanent my eyebrows but my face (us maybe all faces in the world) is asymmetrical. I am afraid to do something really permanent, that I or time cannot change. So I am using a dye (eyelash & eyebrow tint), it’s ok. 

Another my concern is the skin (face skin). My skin is not really bad but bad enough to make me think of it. 

That’s why I became very interested in the book “The age fix” as soon as I saw it. 

The author describes different types of techniques, products, remedies and gadgets to help women look better. 

I am going to write down homemade masks and remedies from the book.

I am planning to post some of them here to memorize and for future use. 


So,

To unclog pores (“The age fix” by Anthony Youn, MD)

Mix 2 teaspoons of unflavored gelatin with 2 teaspoons of milk. Warm it in the microwave for 10 sec, allow it to cool just a little bit, then apply it to your nose while still warm and sticky. 

Once it firms up, pull it off, along with blackheads.


Well, I tried it today.

I was afraid to warm the mask for 10 sec, did it for 5 sec. 5 sec is not enough. 

It’s better to apply a thicker layer, easier to pull it off later. 

I don’t know how good blackheads went off, but in general I did like the mask. 

By the end of the week I will try to do it again.

  Russian January is …kind of… rich on holidays. January 7th- Christmas. January 14 - Old New Year. January 19th - Epiphany In the Orthodox Church, Epiphany, or The Baptism of the Lord, is one of the most important holidays and is celebrated in Russia on January 19 (January 6, Old style). Folded Book Vase

Another crafty Wednesday at the New Bedford Public Library Wilks Branch! This month’s project, Folded Book Vases , a super creative way to upcycle old books into stunning floral displays. It was so cool to see everyone get in touch with their artistic side and also give new life to books that might have otherwise been discarded. As always, the participants surprised me and themselves with their creativity. We've all agreed to meet again next month for our next crafty adventure.
